It's very unlikely that the human race will end in 2012. There have been countless doomsday predictions in the past and so far they have all been wrong. They did succeed in selling books though, and for 2012 we're getting a movie too.

Actually the last big event was in 1989. It knocked out a portion of the Canadian electrical grid for a couple of hours, about like any other blackout event.

The underlying cause is a Coronal Mass Ejection, where a shower of charged particles is thrown off. These happen frequently of course, and the usual effect when they hit our atmosphere is to cause aurora borealis displays.

I'm not completely sure of all the details but apparently if the event is large enough the earth's magnetic field can be disturbed, which can cause high voltage spikes on long conductors such as electrical wires. The only other major event I know of also involved wires, in 1859 when the North American telegraph system experienced some high voltages enough to actually spark fires in some stations.

Again, that one only interrupted the system for a matter of a few hours.

It's quite a leap from there to "we'll be without electricity for 50 years!!!!!!!" which is one of the crackpot claims.

Yep. I miss that song too. I recall how excited I would get as soon as that strted playing and you knew the race was coming. I didn't see that particular race though. After Dale Sr. Passed away I couldn't watch racing for a long while.

I don't really have a very favorite...there are many sleepers though. I guess the one that comes to mind is the 1998 Daytona 500 when Sr. Won it.

FYI, just because you find an image on photobucket, doesn't mean you're legally allowed to use it. Try a site like sxc.hu instead.

And just put what ever you like on your background. Maybe cycle through different sorts of photos. Try not to make the photo too busy though, because then the text will be hard to read.

Just be aware that if they are vinyl stripes you are putting on, even if you get high dollar ones, they will crack from the heat and sun in a few years. I have a 95 Ford Probe with racing stripes, and because i didn't have a garage, they've been on for 3 years now and are cracking the entire length of the stripes. The vinyl will also discolor the paint so you will always have to have stripes to cover up the color difference. If i could go back, i would have saved that money towards some engine mods instead. If you do get them, be sure to have exact measurements for everything, from width and length to how far apart you want them. For your car, i would suggest stripes 10-12 inches wide set 6 inches apart, centered of course, and the full length of veh, even wrapping under the front/rear bumpers. Good luck.

I had the same problem i owned Also a Commodore Amiga but i got rid of it in favor of IBM.
But listen to this here in south florida our school system purchased for our webdeisgn class over 200 imacs in the year 2000 costing more than $50,000 dollars, later the school purchased Imac G2 towers ,later emacs all in one macs then we bought the tower computer the mac g4 dual core yes it cost a preety penny an average of $3,000 per computer multiplied over 100 yes over a quarter of a million dollars but it was a good mac but we ran into problems all the time computer failed, stopped working, programs crashed even with tiger, now that i hear that leopard is coming out with intel processors, BEWARE yes why?
People have heard rumors that you could run windows on a intel mac processor powered computer when leopard comes out you can do this according to the rumor. This will just ruin mac, if you put windows on a mac it just became a pc.

So here's what i recommend man get a mac for important stuff. And get a cheap Dell Basic Computer for $349 dollars for stuff thats diffrent believe me ive had my share of problems with a mac and i will never give up pc's

If these are the original stripe-package that came with the car, you also might be able to get them from a Pointiac/GM dealership-but they probably will be rather expensive there.

A shop will provide and install for $300 in the US and $400 in Canada. So probably $200 labor if they have to work the stripes around the decorative gas cap on the rear panel, down over the bumper to the valance. You should take that cap off, remove the front licence holder and be clear about how you want the deck lid spoiler treated. Stripes usually go over and under, depending on your kit.

Every valentines day I always make my boyfriend a basket of his favorite things; candy, snacks, drinks, dvds, books, video games, cds (itunes cards), clothing, photo frame with our picture, some little random valentines things, and i always make a homemade card. My boyfriend is really into skateboarding so I always get him something to do with that too (magazine subscrptions or tickets to an event) In your case if there was a car show coming up or something to do with bmx coming up you could get tickets to that. Cook him his favorite meal and dessert or take him to his favorite place to eat. Making him coupons to do his favorite things that he loves but aren't always your favorite are a cute idea too or for other things like a massage and such. I made my boyfriend a clock one year that i painted from 'As You Wish' which is a pottery painting place and it said "I love you all the time". He loved it! And getting a place to yourself for the whole night is always special if you don't already have your own places. Last year my boyfriend and I got a room at a beautiful resort to spent it together. Sorry that was all kind of random but i hope you like some of the ideas!

The MSM doesn't take any candidate seriously unless he's one of the two or three top spenders. They treat the rest like non-serious, frivolous candidates, like also-rans. Why do they do that? Well the 'rich' candidates, the ones with the most money to spend, where do you think they spend it? On the media. So naturally the media likes them best. Bill Clinton, GW Bush, and Obama were all the top spenders in their respective races, so they were all 'coronated' as the presumptive winners long before the election.

The GOP doesn't really believe in elections, in the choice of voters. 2008 was an exception, but usually the GOP candidate is picked long before the election by a 'cabal' of party and corporate leaders. They find someone who will support their agenda, then they line up all the money behind him. And as soon as he announces his candidacy with the biggest war chest . . . Well, see paragraph 1. GW Bush was an excellent candidate for them because he had no political thinking of his own. In fact not a thought in his head. He would just read what they put in front of him. Bush was never able to do an unscripted interview because he didn't understand his own ideas and opinions and positions well enough to discuss them in his own words! He was no more than a 'spokesmodel' for the hidden kingmakers who couldn't get elected themselves.

As I said, 2008 was different. But notice how all the candidates in 2008 had all the same opinions on all the same issues? Those were the Party Agenda. They were all running to be a figurehead president, a caretaker president, pursuing the GOP agenda.

This is why Paul never had a chance. The GOP leaders couldn't trust him with their agenda. Just as 8 years before they couldn't trust the 'maverick' John McCain, and when McCain won the first big primary, in New Hampshire, they decided to destroy his candidacy with a vicious smear campaign. (Their best trick.) McCain then decided to become a 'team player' and was a Bush Booster for the next 8 years, destroying his own integrity and credibility in the process.

Fox News is not really a -news- operation, it's a 'house organ' for the GOP, a propaganda outlet. If the GOP doesn't like a guy, Fox News will report only bad news about him. Or even lies. They know their viewers aren't critical or skeptical of what they hear on Fox. In some ways, bigger lies are even easier to sell than smaller ones--like Clinton selling nuclear secrets to the Chinese, or Obama being a Muslim.

The Republicans are not about fiscal responsibility at all. Since Reagan, every Republican president has run as a fierce budget hawk, but once in office behaved as if deficits simply didn't matter. Republican voters don't really want to hear 'we have to cut back, we'll all have to make sacrifices'. What they want to hear is 'tax cuts will pay for themselves! The ONLY way we can balance the budget is through tax cuts, skewed sharply towards the rich of course. And if they don't work, well then we need more tax cuts!'

The Tea Party started out as a movement of Ron Paul supporters. But soon after the 2008 election it was co-opted by the Republicans, it was taken over. Today the leaders are all Republicans and Fox personalities (Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin), the funding comes from Republican sources, and the movement is built up and promoted by Fox News, the Republican quasi-news outlet.

My own feeling is that most Republicans really do understand how badly GW Bush failed, though they don't like to talk about it. So they have this 'stealth' movement that tries to exploit the (completely understandable) anger and frustration of American voters and tax payers, trying to blame it all on Obama and 'liberals'. The Tea Party has become the 'We Hate Obama' party. Just for example, look how many people today believe that Obama is responsible for the TARP bailouts, or even that the recession happened on his watch. Its just a way for the Republicans to come back to power without having to explain the failures of the Bush admin.
